“Call of Country” is my expression of how deeply connected we are to the land. How Country isn’t just where we come from, but who we are.

The flowing blue rivers represent the life sources of my home, the Wiradjuri river systems that have carried our people for generations. They move across the canvas like veins, reminding me that Country lives in us the same way blood moves through our bodies.

The meeting circles throughout the piece show community, family and the places where stories are shared. The handprints ground the artwork in identity and presence, marking my connection and the connection of all who walk this land.

The bright colours represent the energy and spirit of Country, always changing, always alive.

“Call of Country” is about that pull we can’t ignore; the way the land remembers us, calls us home and keeps us connected no matter where we go.
